Hi,It is normal for Reci 100W or 130W. For those tube, it need 8~10mA to get fully activated mode (stable). If you drive the tube with less than 8mA, the beam is not stable and not solid. Plus, the beam spot size is much bigger than you can imagine. No surprise to get 15mm in diameter spot right bef...

Ah, might have a look into those. I could come up with something using a common little momentary push button I suppose. And yeah, my intentions are to actually have 2 switches, one for autofocus and one as a hard limit. Being powered by screw threads, the bed would probably bend the nozzle off the g...

Z axis autofocus switches?
Wanting to add autofocus to my cutter - I've seen most machines use these tubular switches with really long actuators sticking down beside the lens nozzle - anyone know what they're called or where I can get one? Not the capacitive or inductive ones - actual mechanical switches

I think the problem is after all the mirrors and lens are clean that the airassist is a must. I cut with a old 40W tube ( over 1.700 hours on it) 6mm acryl with one pass at 85% power and 4 to 5mm speed, but only with air assist not the cone version, a version like epilog from the side . without air ...

Any clear plastic safety glasses are supposed to be enough for c02 however, I buy real laser rated ones for the correct wavelength. You can buy it on eBay.
