Re: X-axis does not work

Check your datum position, on the LCD it should show the position of the X/Y when the machines is zeroed at datum, if it is not set correctly it will not show 0/0 as X and Y

Re: thin metal cut 05 mm / 0.7 mm

if it is a good tube which is outputting more than 130W you will cut thin mild steel upto half a mm, but it will be slow 1 -2mm per sec. To cut metal you really need 150+W and Oxygen not air, although there is oxgen in air its only around 20 percent, pure oxygen acts like fuel and reacts with the he...

Re: Polycarbonate

Polypropylene, polyethylene and polycarbonate all generate benzene, which is a carcinogen, during laser cutting. ( you should never cut this without using a suitable filtration system that is designed to remove these emissions ) Polystyrene releases styrene, while PVC emits hydrogen chloride ( which...

Re: Setting up hd laser head

The high res head should have come with its own focus strip, its around 3mm....did you get one with the head? if not you can make your own using the tapered step guide that comes with the machine, if you dont have one, i can send you a file to cut your own using the standard head

Re: Spot on 4" head lens reducing laser power

The NOZZLE shown at C is for engraving and cutting thin plastics, Part B is the standard head which accepts 50.2mm (2") focal length lens, the tube length can be 140mm to 165mm depending on the model. If you are cutting 1/4 wood then the standard head is better ( 2"Focal length) the 4 inch...

Re: not happy with LaserStar Engraving Machine

Hiya Very often 24k gold plate is not 24k gold, its more likely to be a composite /alloy, unless you know exactly the composition and plating method you will find it hard to make an impression, try a slower scan rate, see if that helps, I should have a similar model in the workshop in a month or so,...
