With the Nova 35 / 100w you can engrave on slate , marble, glass, wood, and some metals, especially if you use the high res head option, where are you based

Do a spot test with a piece of wood in front of one of the mirrors, if you have a nice round dark dot the beam is OK, but if you have a ring or doghnut shape this will give the results you mentioned, what is the step gap you are using on your settings

Plexiglass is a brand of acrylic, that should cut easily at the setting you describe, are you sure its not polycarbonate or Pet-g

forgot to mention, we have several machines, but the best for mirror alignment is Thunderlaser, I have a several Thunderlasers, some I have never had to adjust the mirrors and they have been used over 3 years, yet the rabbit machine we had to adjust daily ( until I fitted lock nuts )

What brand machine is it.....
Do the adjustment screws on the mirror mount have lock nuts, on a lot of manufacturers that dont fit lock nuts the vibration will start the mirrors moving out of alignment as soon as you start the machine back up.

Thunderlaser every time, one of the best made machines for the price even better than machines costing 3 to 4 times,
