Re: Metal marking
Thanks for the link! I understand that metal marking require the adequate equipment, not with my DIY 5500mw, which I believe is a diode type. The use of Thermark is what I'm looking for. My main concern is the wattage needed for Thermark to work, or does it matter at all? This question is because I ...

Metal marking
I've seen metal marking with the CerMark spray on metals, but never seen how much power is needed, only one done with a 10W laser, would I be correct in thinking that if burn twice with 5.5w would i be able to do it? Or a 5.5w capable of doing it at all? Thank you.

Help a newbie :)
Hey guys, While I wait for my DIY chinese laser (tomorrow I think), have a couple of questions, if you don't mind. First, I'm getting a 5.5W laser for paper crafts, foam, thin plywood and leather and maybe 1/8" color plexiglass, but can't find any chart as to power settings for materials withou...

Re: INTRODUCE YOURSELF
Hello from Atlanta! Just became member of these forums in anticipation of my very first laser arrival, DIY laser 5.5W, totally new but wanted to add another option to my shop and crafts at home, woodworking of small projects, woodturning and signage. Also have a 24 x 36 CNC Router and think a laser ...
