I have a 50W laser machine which i bought very recently. I just noticed this cutting problem with the X axis. I just gave a speed of 5 mm/s to cut a letter on a 3mm acrylic plastic sheet. so what's job are you going to do with the laser?
if smaller power can make it, then choose a smaller one.

600 watt+ Fiber or YAG maybe but CF and Lasers don't get on very well until you get into the kW range for CO2 machines.
Bloody horrible stuff to Lasercut. The resin cuts and leaves the Fibers ..
