Personally, I would recommend you set the max power to 40 or 50% if you don't want to be replacing your tube every 1000 hours.

Laser tubes are often rated for maximum output. Otherwise, they are rated for about 75-90% output. Running a glass tube at high output makes the output power curve degrade quickly enough that you have to recalibrate your work speeds and reduces your typical output quality because of power curve decay.

A RECI or EFR tube rated for 7,000 hours or 10,000 hours is really going to treat you better if run below 50% for cutting and below 30% for everything else.

Positioning gears and motors will only be put through half the stress and strain if run at 70% of maximum speed. at 50% speed they only experience about 25% of the abuse of full speed operation.

Get more power and table size than you need and run the machine conservatively and it will treat you better.
