Laser diode guru

Hello all,

Is there some member( user ) capable to explain me some fact about the laser diode ....

1. right now I got a laser with a small power output .5watts 405nm which is to small for my need
Q. is all laser diode have same size dot if use the exact same lens .

2. I buy and install a laser diode with a power output of 2.3 watt 445nm but the beam dot is
almost 2.5 times bigger at the finest possible, someone suggest to me to replace the lens with
a G2 lens and it will reduce the size of the beam.
Q. is the size of the dot is affected by the power ....bigger power equal bigger dot or it's the
quality or the type of lens effect the size of the dot .

3. Someone said to me to bring the laser module at the closest ( more or less 1 centimeter )
of the piece I want to cut and I should have a smaller size of dot
Q. is the height of the module interact with the size of the dot ... if to far

The dot size has nothing with power but lens.So you can replace the lens.And you check the best focal length?Different lens has different focal length.
