Hi everyone..

I am new and I haven't got a clue about this laser business so be gentle please

I have a cnc table and was hoping I could build a rig to adapt to it to cut materials using a powerful diod laser.

I Found SOME ON EBAY which I think I can afford.. IE

Rofin Sinar Diode Laser Dilas m1f2s22-976.2-130c-is29.2m3 Top Condition

Now... this specific listing seems to include the diod and the head only..

What I would like to kno is, what else do I need to purchase, and what kind of materials can I cut at this power.. or in other words what do I need and what power do I need to cut through what materials...

I see videos on YouTube of cnc cutters cutting through thick sheets of metal, aluminium, plastic, glass, etc and I would like to do the same?.

I already have the table so I was just wondering...

Any help would be appreciated..

Many thanks

Marco

I persuaded you of the feasibility of the idea. But I think id difficulty to meet you requirement.Beacuse the diod laser what you but is low power,It can't cutting any materials of metal, aluminium, glass and so on.But thinner wood, thinner paper is ok,only thin.
You will need controller,power supply.

Hi Thanks for your help

What sort of wattage would i need to cut stuff?

Also, if i buy this onejust to start with and play/learn, what other parts do i need.

I know you said controller and PSU, but can you be more specific?

Cheers

or youtube search for "dilas 130 watt" and look for me "Mr. L Olsson"

Co2 container for the lens from a binocular to slide into for collimating and focus.
Makes holes in a tin can
melts a brick.

What doesn't show in the video is that it
Turns stone/rock into glass and burns the door 6 feet away in my room in seconds, somewhat unfocused since i didn't plan on it....
