Hi
I'm new to this forum, so apologies if this has already been asked. Does anyone have one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/60W-CO2-Laser ... AXIS-3-JAW
Is it any good? It seems to have a big bed for working on. Is it still a cheapy, shitty Engraver? Should I expect it to arrive broken?
I'm not a tinkerer, so am hoping for a fairly simple machine that pretty much works out of the box.
Thanks in advance

I haven't got that specific model but I have got a Chinese made laser which that certainly is. I wouldn't know if that was a genuine 60w laser or not but a 60w tube is a specific length so if you can find the case size of the laser cutter you can see if a 60w tube would fit inside.
As far as if it will be any good, that's a different question. There will be very little, if any, backup and you'll be very much on your getting it to work well. If you're not a tinkerer I'd leave well alone. You'd be better off buying from http://justaddsharks.co.uk or http://hpclaser.co.uk as they will both offer installation, service and backup.
I am a tinkerer and am more that happy to try and sort out any problems. I imported my twin head LC1390 laser from G weike in china and it's been a great machine.

Hi Terry,
Thanks for the quick response and the info. I'm a bit reticent to buy something that I will have to fiddle with (but also don't want to spend too much as it is only a hobby). I'll have a look at the more reputable suppliers you suggested and see.
Glad to hear your ebay purchase is performing well tho. Lot's to think about!
Thanks again

I bought direct from G Weike in China and it all went well until it arrived in Britain but that's another story.

Which one did you get?
What happened when it got to the UK?!

I have an 80W CO2 laser cutting/engraving machine and I bought it from LightObject. It is a professional grade engraving/cutting machine with the latest 4th generation DSP technology - the LO X7 DSP Controller with Color Display. Now the machine is working very nice.
