Venus V35 laser cutter firmware problem

Post by Mcca1986 »

I tried updating the firmware on my Venus V35. The firmware did not take and it deleted the old version. Jorlink is checking with the manufacturer but said there is a chance I may have to buy a new main board with firmware downloaded. They said that even if they could find a new main board that it would be around $1600. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do? I am not going to spend 1600 for a new main board for the machine. The machine inside appears to have a DB connection, not sure if this is used for programming the machine at the factory? I'm at a loss at this point and hope I haven't bricked the machine. I was told by a friend that another possible option would be to use a copy of mach 3 cnc control and run it that way which would be much cheaper than a new main board. I would rather see if I can reload firmware onto the machine. Does anyone have any suggestions or help? I am new to the world of laser machines.

Thanks,
Steve
