Unwanted shadow on one side of the engraved area

Hi, i recently bought a Bodor BCL1309XU from china, everything was ok at first, but then everytime I engrave the laser is leaving burn marks on one side of the engraved area, like a shadow (see attached photo) does anyone know why this started to happen? and why is only on one side, sorry for my limited english, i would appreciate some help
