Hello to everyone, I am brand new to laser cutting and am just about to purchase a secondhand G.Weike LG 500 (desk) laser cutter engraving machine 60W. I think it is a low use machine and we are in the final negotiations. I hope to pick it up this week. When I get it I will find out how complete it is and no doubt be coming back here asking for advice. My interest is the design and building of my own clocks and kinetic art. I have a lathe, milling machine and a 3d printer. I am very much looking forward to cutting parts out of acrylic. (including gears)

I have been reading some of the posts on the forums and am very grateful that so much good advice is on offer. I will let you know how I am getting on as soon as I fire up my new device. (assuming I get it!)

Anyways, thank you for letting me come on board

Hello,

I'm a novice woodworker from Upstate NY. I bought a laser engraver to expand the options we have. We have been asked to make toys for VA Family Center. We hope we can do some great things with laser. I look forward to share some great information and idea here

Hi all, I'm in Austin Texas and have an 80 watt CO2 laser and 2 30 watt fiber galvos. I do all walk in/call in engraving & cutting. I run Corel X7, Job Control JCX, and Ezcad on the fibers. Hopefully I can help out or learn a thing or two. Neville.

I am Paul
I have a K40 machine upgraded with LaserLight control panel and LaserCad V7.78.
I have used this machine to cut gears for wooden clocks that I build, both in wood and plastic.
Also use it to cut custom panels for various home projects.
Been using the machine for about a year, and with the upgrades I am very happy for my little projects.

Hey All,

My name is Ryan and I do custom laser engraving on guns. I'm currently working with an Epilog Fibermark 24 (30 watt) and a Laserstar 80 watt fiber as well. We mainly do engravings on metal although I have used a CO2 laser on wood, plastic, leather and more in the past. Looking forward to learning a thing or 3 in here.

Cheers,

Ryan
