X Axis Sensor Replacement - Help Required

Post by theprint »

Hi

I am hoping someone on here can help me with an issue.

My machine is running RDWorks V8

Two days ago it stopped homing the x axis on startup - Home is up and right. Instead it would go up and them crawl to the lefte for about 2 mins then speed to the left and crash into the end (opposite side to the proximity sensor).

I purchased a new sensor and installed it, this has got me to the current situation.

Old Sensor

Diagnostics - XLimit - : Showing Green no matter where the head is
When X Home Enabled - Laser Head - creeping to the left then speeding up and hitting left side.
Lamp 1 on Controller LmtX- : Always on
Steel Blade placed on top of sensor - LED on sensor Lights

New Sensor

Diagnostics - XLimit - : Does not light no matter where the head is
When X Home Enabled - Laser Head - move to right and hits side.
Lamp 1 on Controller LmtX- : Never lights
Steel Blade placed on top of sensor - LED on sensor Lights
X Value on display when head moved to home reads X:1000 Y:0

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards
Martin

Just to start, what is the bed size set in the software, also have you ever used the calibration facility in RDworks Vendor settings to ensure the motor step value is correct. If the head is hitting this can be caused by the step value moving the head more than the software thinks its moving
