Initial power too high (Nova 35)

Post by Iain D »

Hello,

Recently bought a Thunder Laser Nova 35 (100W). So far, generally happy with it.
The only issue I have at the moment is when marking material from a vector file.

The LASER is set to cut mode. But at low power and high speed so it shouldn't cut through the material just mark it. However, when the LASER begins to make the mark in the material (3mm ply) the power is too high, but just for an instant, and leaves a small hole. The remainder of the vector is good.

Is there away to stop the initial power being too high?

I've attached an image to try and show problem. The red circles indicate the starting point. At this point the laser cuts right through the material, I would like it not to do this. The rest of the circle is fine.

For this issue, please try to lower the min power, generally less than 5~10% to max power.
the max power works when the power increase to the speed you set.
the min power works in the beginning or cut the corner which the laser head will becomes slower.

Hi Ben,

Played with the settings. Max power at 20% and min power at 1% seems to give the best results on this particular example. Thank you.
