Laser engrave prismatic designs

Hi Folks!

New to the forum and laser engraving, but no stranger to 3D printing. I was told the cool prismatic stickers and window decals are etched using laser. Is that true? I’ve tried searching all over the Internet, but can’t seem to find how to do this. Not even in this forum. I was thinking I could make some neat gifts for birthdays and such next holiday season.
