Please excuse my complete ignorance but I have recently purchased a CO2 laser Machine Mantech 3050 60W. I intend to use it to laser engrave personalised text onto wooden brush handles which I will then colour infill.
I have only used the machine once and need to start testing different speed/power settings to get a clear and clean engraving without burning/staining the brush around the engraving. It needs to be deep enough to hold a colour infill using a lacquer stik but not too deep.
Can anyone offer some advice on the settings I should use. My first attempt it simply engraved the outline of the text which I believe is a vector engraving? However the type of engraving I want to achieve is not just the outline.
I have attached a picture of the effect I would like to achieve.
Many thanks

Re: Help with settings for engraving text
Yes,You need a vector design. And you need hight power low speeds, for exmple 50%power 200mm/s speeds
Because of major,be at ease so.
Re: Help with settings for engraving text
Thank you, I really appreciate your reply. I am using software called RD works that was installed along with the machine. I’m guessing that I can select a vector image option through that when I enter the text into the layer?
Again apologies for my lack of knowledge or experience.
Thanks
