Hello,
I am looking to get into wood laser engraving & cutting. My purpose is to make wooden boxes, engraved with logos and other text. Because I'm just starting with this, I don't want to spend too much money to begin with. So I am looking for something cheap to get me started, and if everything works out good, I plan on investing on a better machine.
I will be mostly cutting and engraving on 4 mm thickness sheets of wood and the maximum size boxes I'll be creating are 15 cm X 20 cm.
I've read that in order to cut wood, you need a minimum of 2 watt laser and 5 watt is recommended.
So I found this on eBay, which advertises "10W USB CNC Laser Engraver Metal Marking Wood Cutting Machine 50x35cm DIY Kit"
Since I have zero experience on the subject, I'm looking for feedback/suggestions/recommendations. Will this be a good initial purchase? Do you have any better suggestions in the same price range?
Thanks
a good wood cutter/engraver to get started
