How to Solve the Serration in Laser Cutting

1. Vibration
If the laser cutting machine vibrates, the products it cuts will have serrations, which can be divided into two reasons. One is the external conditions of the machine. For example, during the cutting process of the machine, such as the water tank, the air extractor will not be too close. If it is too close, it will lean next to the machine tool. When it is running, it will vibrate the machine tool. When the machine is cutting materials, it will vibrate, which will affect the cutting edge effect. The other is the vibration of the equipment itself during the cutting process, which affects the cutting results.

2. Machine parallelism

If the parallelism of the machine is not installed properly, it will not be stable when the machine is running, so it will also produce jitter during the running process, and the cut products will also occur in the serration.

3. The lens is not locked

Sometimes, if the lens is not locked, the lens will also vibrate when the machine is running, and the light will also vibrate when the metal laser cutting equipment is working, so the cut product will also have poor effect and serration.

4. Gear seat and other aspects

If the edge of the gear seat is close to the seat, causing slippage, it may also cause this situation.

5. Wear of sliding block

There is wear in the slider or a lot of things are stuffed in the slider beads, and it shakes when running on the guide rail. So when cutting materials, there will be many serrations

6. Guide rails are not parallel

The two guide rails in Y direction are not installed in parallel, so they will get stuck when running, and there will be serration when cutting. If the metal laser cutting machine has serrations when cutting, you can press the laser head with your hand to prevent it from shaking when it runs. If Baidu does not press it with your hand, it must be a slider problem; If it is still available, you should check the belt and gear. If a new machine is available, it must have been not installed properly when it was installed, or its control drive and motor do not match.

Since reasons why serration occurs are clear, what should we do to solve it?

Step 1: check whether the lens is loose. If the lens is loose, reinstall it firmly.  

Step 2: Check whether the parameters are written incorrectly. When the speed value is too large, the material is not fully heated, and the material section will appear serration. At this time, adjust the speed value parameter appropriately.  

Step 3: is whether it is caused by graphic output and computer graphic output. At this time, you can draw again, or replace the computer.  

Step 4: Check whether the moving parts of the machine are loose. At this time, relevant parts need to be checked one by one.  

Step 5: Check whether there is clearance between the trolley head seat and the sliding block. Readjust the slider so that it is in the proper position.

Step 6: Check whether the synchronous belt is too loose or too tight. Adjust the synchronous belts on both sides to make the tightness of the synchronous belts consistent.  

Step 7: Check whether the beams are parallel. Correct parallelism and reduce error.  

Step 8: It may be caused by the failure of the motherboard and drive. Replace the motherboard or drive.
