How to make font weight lighter?

Hi,
How do I make the weight of a font lighter? I’m using the scan setting on my mantech 3050 machine with a speed of 200 and power 50 as this gives me the engraving depth and style I need to be able to colour infill. However I want to make the lettering thinner ie the font weight to be lighter. Any suggestions how I can do this? Thanks
