Hi,
Any ideas would be much appreciated here!
We've been using laser cutters for the best part of 4 years now and have had the usual problems of alignment and whatnot but this one is completely new and has us baffled!
We have a 600x900 machine bed with a 100w tube, approx 6 months old. It's been fine since arriving, barely needing any aligning and has just been an 'unbox and go' sort of machine.
The tube fires constantly when running a sheet but cuts out randomly (leaving parts connected with little tabs or missing whole chunks as shown in the pics). In the attached pics, it cut out on the first few pieces but then continued for a good 15 mins cutting everything fine.
The tube is as bright as the day it came and runs at around 24mm on 60% power, cutting through 4mm MDF. We're stumped as to what's causing the tube to cut out - the PSU is fine, it's grounded, has air assist and is plumbed into a reservoir that keeps water temp around 19 degrees.
I know it's a long shot but any suggestions would be amazing, thankyou!

Re: Intermittent Cutting Help
hi, does the head continue moving along the cut path when it stops cutting, if it does then that would suggest hardware problem. but looking at the first picture i noticed that the problem happens at the same place, assuming you are cutting left to right you get a small mistake first then immediately a big mistake that would suggest software problem. perhaps the gcode is being corrupted there are gcode programs that are supposed to improve the cutting cycle you may want to look at one of those to see if you can verify the gcode and make sure that it is ok.
