How to cover a 100w Laser

Post by jamesrd »

So I have a 100w laser and the laser follows the red line, as you can see most of the invisible laser travel is exposed. Any idea on best ways to cover this?

Thanks

Just a thought...
Put the whole thing into an enclosure (cabinet) with an interlock switch which prevents the laser being fired when the enclosure door is opened.

Thanks, I have been doing research and that is something what I had in mind, but the interlock switch is a good idea. Thanks!

If you're using a laser marking machine and noticing that the invisible laser light is exposed along the red line, there are ways to fix it:

Enclosure: Make a box around the laser's path using materials that stop the laser light from getting out.

Shields: Put up barriers to block stray light from escaping the laser's path. These barriers could be made of solid materials.

Reflective Surfaces: Use shiny surfaces to bounce any stray laser light back into the right path, reducing exposure elsewhere.

Adjustment: Try changing the position of the laser to lessen the exposure of the invisible laser light. You might need to change the angle or direction of the laser beam.

Safety Rules:
Make sure you're following safety rules for using lasers, especially in laser marking machines. This includes keeping the laser light contained and safe.

Using these methods, you can make sure that the invisible laser light stays where it should in laser marking machines, keeping things safe and working well.

To cover the exposed invisible laser travel, you can consider using laser-safe enclosure panels or curtains made from materials that can block the laser light effectively. Additionally, installing barriers or shields around the laser machine's working area can help prevent accidental exposure. It's essential to prioritize safety when working with lasers to protect yourself and others from potential harm. Also, have you considered the Monport laser?
