Cheap CHinese LC use issue...HELP!!!

OK, I have one of the cheap Chinese 40w lasers and I'm having issues getting it to work. After loading the software, and opening the program. it says "USB Key not installed". When I plug in the dongle, the computer dings but it doesn't show that it's connected if I go to the control panel. All that said, the machine doesn't cut when I make a simple drawing. Any ideas?
I'm working with the seller to get this going and I've loaded the latest software as they recommended and I still get the same error. I'm not a computer wiz so I can't write programs or things like that. I'm looking for a software package that will accept .dxf files to cut. Any help is greatly appreciated. gavoss @ swbell dot net.
