Just to start, what is the bed size set in the software, also have you ever used the calibration facility in RDworks Vendor settings to ensure the motor step value is correct. If the head is hitting this can be caused by the step value moving the head more than the software thinks its moving

Lasers will always impart an angle on the edge, you can calculate the angle if you know your beam diameter ( say 6mm) and focus length ( say 50mm ).
