I just got a new China k40 laser machine at a liquidation sale (no warranty) the y axis will make a loud noise when trying to move but basically just kind of shakes. Took the stepper out and it will just go back and forth but won't go any one way on its own. I'm not sure if it's the stepper or if it could be the main board. Just don't know enough about them to know how to test it. The motor is a duel shaft motor. Beyond that there's no markings or numbers on it. So basically I'm looking for some help to diagnose further and maybe a suggestion on a replacement if needed. It has the m2nano board in it if that helps.

About judging the quality of the motor, when the motor is not energized, you can turn the motor bearing manually. For your phenomenon, it is caused by the wrong setting of the pulse number of the stepper motor and the driver
