I'm wondering if anyone could advise me on the use of a masking layer. Basically, I want to coat my base material with a removable layer - non-binding paint, wax or maybe wd40. Then use an engraver like an Ortur 20W to selectively remove from that masking layer. I then want to spray paint the item. And wash it (after drying) - hopefully just leaving me with the engraved area painted.
I'd be interested to know whether this would be practical, and if so - what would be a good choice for the masking layer.
What I really need is a UV sign printer. But I can't justify the high cost.

Hi - I'm sort of new here on the forum
But - what I would do when wanting to do what you describe, is to use a masking tape/foil like in the video
