Thunder Laser Nova / RDWorks - Fiducial Marker Positioning

Dear all,
We have a ThunderLaser Nova 63 laser with RDWorks.
For a job that demands high-precision alignment, I need to read out X/Y positions for a large number of manually located fiducial markers. It would be EXTREMELY helpful to be able to get these numbers into my C++ program for further processing of the input data. Is the communication protocol for these driver boards documented so I could intercept it to read out this information?
Alternatively, it would be VERY helpful to have a function "Create marker in RDWorks at current position" that can be issued by pressing a button on the machine or in the software. Does such function exist?
