Combining Beams

Hello Everyone.
I have been doing some research on how to combine two beams into one beam the idea being creating a more powerful beam from 2 or more smaller beams but I have not had much luck and I am worried I am on compltely the wrong idea.
I have focused on looking at mirrors to combine the beams but there does not seem to be any products available to do what I want it to do. I was looking into one way mirrors so I can have one beam coming in at right angles to another and hitting a 45 degree angle mirror to turn it by 90 degrees and the another beam hitting behind the mirror but it being one way let's it through combining the beams
Any ideas would be welcome.
