How to Select and Correctly Operate Laser Cutting Protective Lenses

The protective lens is also called the focusing lens which is a relatively precise optical element. The protective lens is very important to the laser cutting machine. Its cleanliness directly affects the processing performance and quality of the machine. If the lens is not properly selected, it will cause large laser loss, frequent damage to the protective lens, unstable product quality, and cause serious losses to the enterprise. Although the protective lens is a vulnerable part, in order to improve its utilization rate and reduce production costs, the lens can be cleaned regularly to achieve the purpose of reuse. Therefore, the protective lenses of the laser cutting machine should be maintained regularly.

Behind the strong market demand, there are usually uneven product prices and quality. There are tens to hundreds of protective lenses on the market. Of course, behind the price difference is the quality difference. Therefore, it is very important for enterprises in the metal processing industry to select lenses with good quality and low laser loss.

In addition to matching the overall dimensions, it is also necessary to select the material of the protective lens and the technical parameters of the laser antireflection film that are suitable for you according to the actual cutting environment and the laser cutting power.

If purchasing protective lenses is a mental work, then using protective lenses is a technical work. Because during the installation and cleaning of the protective lens, any sticky matter, even oil drops printed on the nail, will improve the absorption rate of the lens and reduce its service life. Therefore, the cleaning work of lenses cannot be ignored. Gloves must be worn during installation, and no fingerprints can be left; Do not let anything scratch the lens surface; When removing the lens, both hands should hold the edge of the lens, and the film should not be touched; Clean the lens with clean tissue paper, test paper and optical grade solvent;

The specific lens replacement process is as follows:

First of all, prepare the corresponding tools before replacement, including dust-free cloth, anhydrous alcohol of more than 98% concentration, dust-free cloth cotton swab, masking paper and new protective lenses. Then, moisten the dust-free cloth with alcohol, and gently wipe the periphery of the protective mirror window of the laser cutting head with the dust-free cloth. This step is to prevent dust from entering the cavity during disassembly. Next, seal the copper mouth with masking paper, gently pull out the protective lens drawer, and seal the chamber with masking paper to prevent dust from entering. Remove the protective lens by rotating it anticlockwise, and then place the lens on the dust-free cloth. Then, use a dust-free cloth cotton swab to gently wipe the interior of the lens drawer and the periphery of the insertion block, and clean them to prevent dust from entering. Then, take out the new protective lens, tear off the protective paper on one side, then gently cover the protective lens insert block on the protective lens, turn it over, tear off the protective paper on the other side of the lens, load the compression plate and lock it. Finally, tear off the masking paper, gently insert the protective lens insert into the chamber, and lock the hexagon screws.

In addition, there are some precautions during operation:

1. Check the seal ring. If the seal ring is loose or aging, it needs to be replaced in time.

2. Avoid ventilation. Turn off the fan and other ventilation equipment in the plant to prevent dust from falling on the lens. Moreover, due to the relatively large volume of the protective mirror box, particles are inevitably mixed in the process of replacement. Therefore, the protective mirror box must be replaced quickly, and the window must be sealed with tape or other films when the mirror box is quickly removed, so that the replacement can be completed carefully.

3. After the installation of new lenses, the protective lenses should be checked regularly and cleaned and replaced in time.

4. Original lenses must be selected when purchasing protective lenses.

5. The cutting head should be kept clean and dry as far as possible and cleaned regularly, which requires the attention of the operating engineer.

The protective lens is just a small loss for the laser cutter, but it can not be ignored. The focusing lens of the laser cutting machine is a consumable. When it still cannot reach a very high cleanliness after many times of cleaning, it should be replaced to ensure the processing efficiency of the laser cutting machine, so as not to delay production.
